Description
Popular among the Newars of
Kathmandu valley, this Kasi Baja belongs to the TAAL BAJA
{Rhythmic Instrument} category. Like MADAL, it’s wrapped
with the leather while
the both ends are rubbed with KHARI , “ash”. This instrument
is usually played during the BHAJAN {traditional
hymns}. One of the extinct instruments, Kasi Baja can rarely
be found played during traditional hymns these days.
